Tune in Wednesday, June 23 (today!) on Party934.com. Showtime is noon in Arizona, 3 p.m. EST.

Party934.com is an online radio alternative for listeners sick of stations that play one song followed by 500 commercials.

This week’s musical line-up includes tunes for Louisiana native James as well as loyal TC.com readers Radmax, Leftfield, Eric Heithaus, and even an Arkansas-related ditty for “yer pal, Ferrari Bubba.”

Rynski’s Shattered Reality is on every Wednesday at noon in Arizona, 3 p.m. EST.

What: Rynski’s Shattered Reality Internet radio show
When: Every Wednesday for one hour
Time: Noon in Arizona, 3 p.m. EST
Where: www.party934.com

Click and take a listen LIVE – or, if you missed the time slot, check out the recording to be posted after the fact.

P.S. Yes, I got a new microphone to replace the crummy, fuzzy one I was stuck with last week.

UPDATE with playlist:

MISSED THE SHOW? Click here for a link to download June 23 Rynski’s Shattered Reality

Hopefully I will find a better way to post recorded show, as TC.com site has strict size limit on audio files and will not support files of the show’s size.

You can also check out podcast on Party934.com in the iTunes section (posted a few days after the show).

P.S. Still having microphone issues – so don’t be freaked out when my talking is all low followed by BLASTING LOUD music – haha.

Playlist from 6/23 Rynski’s Shattered Reality

HAHA, I know right?! If only I was powerful enough in this company to make things happen. They’re actually in the process of doing a company wide “PC Refresh” which means we all get upgraded to WinXP from Win2k. It’s a step in the right direction, at least!

aww, Jenna! maybe we should have a “mentalhealth day” from work and then a streaming lunchtime event.
          good luck on the refresh!

Unfortunately, I missed the first 31 minutes.  Glad to hear that I can tune into the podcast in a few days.

By the way, “Do You Realize” is the official rock song of Oklahoma by order of their state legislature.  Hmm…Arizona does not have an official rock song.

thanks for catching second half, koreyk!
‘do you realize’ is dang BEAUTIFUL song!! we need an official rock song here in az, for sure.
i was really digging Black Oak Arkansas doing Mutants of the Monster.
maybe we can talk them into changing their name to ‘black oak arizona’ and go for that one?
      hahahha.

For radmax, a high quality clip of Renaissance, pre Annie Haslam, founded by Keith and Jane Relf.  Interestingly, none of the original members was in the band when Ms Haslam joined.
    Kings and Queens

Speaking of Keith Relf, here’s a clip of the Yardbirds just before they morphed into Led Zeppelin, performing “Dazed and Confused”, with the original lyrics by Jake Holmes.  Lyrics aside, it bears a strong familial resemblance to Zep’s version, including Jimmy Page bowing his guitar.  Mr Holmes has never received songwriting credit by Led Zeppelin (‘though he has by The Yardbirds), much less any royalties.

      thank YOU!!! music man koreyk.
i am a huge zeppelin fan – dazed and confused is only second to levee breaks in my book…well, maybe battle of e’ermore is in there somewhere….can’t WAIT to check out link.
poor jake. he should have gotten MILLIONS for that one.

“Battle of Evermore” is at the top of my favorites list also.  The female vocals belong to the late great Sandy Denny, who remains the only guest vocalist on a Zep record.

Dazed and Confused by Jake Holmes.
Although instrumentation consists of just guitar and some spare percussion, it is unmistakably the same song.  Same melody, same descending riff.  Even much of the instrumental break shows up in Page’s solo.

Jake Holmes is just one of many artists plagiarized by Led Zeppelin.  I could easily go on and on, but there are countless web pages already devoted to the subject.  While I still enjoy their music, I find their treatment of their sources maddening and disappointing.

that is crummy about the lack of respect for sources.
maybe karma did come around for the band and bonham was standing near the front line.

Hi Ryn, I was working and unable to listen today.  I will try to catch your show soon, though.

I think I misled you a little bit.  When I referred to “Vaseline”, I was thinking of a song by the Flaming Lips.  Unfortunately, the name of the song is actually “She don’t use Jelly”.  It’s about a girl who,
    “will make ya toast
    but she don’t use butter,
    she don’t use cheese,
    she don’t use jelly,
    or any of these.
    She uses Vaseline”

Anyway, “Do you realize” is such a beautiful song.  And I’m not surprised there is a band called “The Vaselines”.

hahahhaha! tooo funny on the vaseline mix-up –
which i am overall glad i made. the band actually was pretty cool, at least based on the two songs my secret song source dug up.
not sorry i missed the jelly song – yick! hahahhahah.
      am sorry you missed kumbayah!
thanks for your requests – keep ’em coming.

Rynski, hello…if you can  hear this I really enjoyed the audible portion of your show! 🙂
Your awesome tune selection and cutting banter is unique and refreshing in the realm of blithering idiot dj’s and commercial pap music…really cool.
PS- When the Levee Breaks is awesome, but pales in comparison to Your Time is Gonna Come and Traveling Riverside Blues… 😉
koreyk- you ROCK man! Thanks for the cool link! Who says U-tube always sucks. 🙂
